Audrey Vernick can (and does) talk endlessly about the Yankees and dogs and pizza, not unlike your average fifth-grader. She writes nonfiction and humorous fiction picture books and middle-grade fiction. Her books include the New York Times Notable Book Brothers at Bat, She Loved Baseball, First Grade Dropout, and Is Your Buffalo Ready for Kindergarten? Her books have been published in more than a dozen countries. A frequent presenter at elementary schools, she lives near the ocean in New Jersey with her family.
