Artie Bennett dreamed of being an author. His dreams came true with the publication of The Butt Book, now a classic children’s book. He is also the author of an inspiring picture-book biography of a hapless, though beloved, horse, The True Story of Zippy Chippy: The Little Horse That Couldn’t, which won the Magnolia Book Award, given by the children of Mississippi. His other acclaimed books include Poopendous!; Peter Panda Melts Down!; Belches, Burps, and Farts—Oh My!; and What’s Afoot! Your Complete, Offbeat Guide to Feet. Serendipity and sorrow sent Artie this story. He was at the shiva house of his late mother-in-law when he first got wind of The Tenth Man. He listened entranced and knew right away that he wanted to share this life-affirming, touching true tale with young readers. Artie lives in Brooklyn, New York, with his wife, Leah, a native of New Orleans. HuffPost says: “It appears there is no topic Mr. Bennett can’t make funny and educational.”
